THE WEB TOOL IS DESIGNED FOR

The goal

– The overall purpose of the ‘Towards Sustainable Tendering’ project is to support the sustainable regional
development of businesses and communities in Lapland.

– The main output is a web-based tool, that makes public tendering and
procurement easier to target the products and services produced by local
businesses.
– The project develops a game that makes the tendering decision-making process entertaining for citizens.

– The tool aims to increase the local sales from businesses to the public sector and to provide data to convince the officials and businesses in the area to put effort into it in order to see good long-term effects.

FEATURES AND DESIGN (PROTOTYPE)

The tool is still under development; however, first prototype is ready soon. We can use it to pilot economical impacts of public tenderings with different end-users.

On the results page, the user can see the commodities that match the search parameters. The user can simply select the category of commodities they are interested in. In addition, the user will also be able to see the search results for all categories. This allows for a versatile research experience.

The commodities page allows organizations and companies to add their products and services to the tool database. Every commodity should include a detailed description that is used to filter the results for searches made by officials looking for products and services for public tenders.

The user can view the impact per municipality on the map. This is done by clicking on the highlighted municipality to open a content box that will show more details about this impact. The goal is to create a simple UI for the user for an easier comparison of the different commodities.
